How is it almost Father’s Day? I feel like Mother’s Day happen last weekend, time really is flying. If you are like me, you are really excited to celebrate the Dads in your life. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites this year. If you are also like me and married to someone who is content with an old high school T-shirt and beers in the backyard, its impossible to shop for them. Am I right?
CHATBOOKS
I discovered Chatbooks last year and it quickly has become my go-to add on gift. I think of all the lost photos stuck in our phones that aren’t perfect for a home decor vibe.. How many lost souls we never got around to printing? When my son came home from the hospital after 95 days, we had thousands (really) of photos of his journey. My husband and I weren’t able to go to the hospital at the same time (thanks COVID), which meant we spent all day/night sending pictures back and forth. A blessing of it was we have plenty of photos to remind us how strong he is. For Christmas, I gave my husband a Chatbook called “Bringing Cooper Home.”
The book showed his progress throughout his NICU Journey and quickly became a family favorite to share how tough he is. Chatbooks layouts can all be done through your phone, no fancy widgets, no drugstore printing, just tap and add. It has great features to customize the title, color scheme, add dates or photo collages. I have purchased about 5 now and I have never paid over $30 for tons of photos in a really nice hardcover book. They often have promo codes for 20% off. Its a top pick for the guy who has everything and just loves being a dad, seeing his little guy over and over again.
BACKYARD GAMES
Bring out the inner college guy who loves hanging out outside with his friends. There are so many great options for backyard games that range from pricey to affordable. With the start of summer, there are great deals on standard games or get crafty with a personalized option from Etsy. Some of my favorite options:
Life Size Jenga // Cornhole // America Cornhole Bags // Connect Four // Bocce Ball
MAN DATE PACKAGE
What do guys love more than watching sports? Talking to their man friends about sports, at a bar. I can’t blame them for being so predictable. It’s like the spa for us? Doesn’t feel the same but here we are. A couple of the wives agreed on a local spot for gift cards, brews and a man date so our husbands can spend the day doing what they do. Other options could be a boys day a sports game, golf outing or if you are feeling very kind, a man weekend. We won’t get that crazy over here this year but will enjoy that “dad” gets a “Dad’s Day Out.”
GRILL GEAR
I never met a guy who didn’t love a grill. The best part of grill supply gifts is they can be tiny or large without having to buy a traditional “kit.” What is the one thing your “Dad” is always saying he wish he had for the grill? Get that one piece. What do you notice he spends the most time cleaning? Is there an easier solution?
Insider trick: He won’t look up the easier way and you just found yourself a gift. Crate and Barrel always has nice single pieces for your grill or kitchen.
MAN CRATES
MAN CRATES also has really fun selection of “Man Things.” Most of their orders come in an actual crate with a tool with very subtle directions on how to open…. AKA TRY HARDER. I sent as a thank you gift one year, its a gift not to miss and always leads to a funny story. Who doesn’t like when the recipient has to work a little harder? The Grill Master Man Crate or the Pizza Master Man Crate are summer favorites and really nice for you to eat well this summer.
Enjoy spoiling the Dads in your life all month long. Check out our shop page for more gift ideas all year.
xoxo
